A total of 57 small businesses from across Northern New Mexico have received awards from the Regional Development Corporation’s (RDC) 2023 Micro-Grant Fund

The fund, which is supported by Laboratory operator Triad, provides a small infusion of capital to help businesses diversify, sustain or grow revenue, leverage other investments, and put systems in place that lead to growth and create job opportunities.

In addition, the RDC provides technical support and information on other funding opportunities to all applicants, whether or not they are awarded funding.

More than $150,000 awarded

A total of $154,754 in awards up to $3,000 each went to businesses based in all seven counties of the Northern New Mexico region.

Of the businesses, 59% are women-owned, 24% minority-owned, 7% tribal member-owned, 7% veteran-owned, and 2% owned by people with disabilities.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to support the small businesses across the region,” said Pat Vanderpool, RDC executive director.  “I am amazed at the range of businesses in our communities. Their creativity and imagination and business savvy make me sit back and say, ‘Why didn’t I think of that!’ We’re highly motivated to help them succeed.”
