Grab your sunscreen, put on your thinking cap and get ready to have fun! This month, Los Alamos ScienceFest returns from Tuesday, July 6, to Sunday, July 11. Under the theme “Driven by Science,” the festival will feature dynamic events for all ages celebrating science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) activities.

Throughout ScienceFest you can chat with scientists and engineers and learn how science impacts our everyday lives. The days are packed with activities. Check out a composting demo, get the scoop on the Oppenheimer House, peek under the hoods of electric cars, and enjoy music and movies (including sci-fi comedy “Flubber”) in local parks — and much more!

The littlest innovators can have fun with robotics, experiments at the library and their very own Discovery Box featuring an electroscope kit from the Bradbury Science Museum.

ScienceFest kicks off with a welcome from Los Alamos National Laboratory’s director, Thom Mason. Can’t make it to Los Alamos? Many events will be livestreamed.

Los Alamos ScienceFest is a joint initiative of Los Alamos Mainstreet, the Los Alamos Creative District, Discover Los Alamos, and the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation
