Laboratory trails remain closed as part of Stage 3 fire restrictions

Decision aligns with Los Alamos County, the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service

May 7, 2022

As part of Stage III fire restrictions, all Laboratory trails remain closed in the interest of public safety and to minimize adverse risks. Conditions that contributed to the move to Stage III fire restrictions on May 7, 2022, such as record low moisture levels and the high risk of new fires igniting, have not changed.

The Lab appreciates the patience and understanding of trail users during this challenging time. Please adhere to the trails closure and be assured that the trails will reopen when conditions improve sufficiently.
